What’s the state of the Goth culture in your country?
I'd be curious if other countries face a similar decline in numbers on this front as Germany. Over the past one or two decades, many Goth Clubs have closed and respective events are exceeding rare – at least compared to how it used to be in the early 2000s. I've recently moved to Leipzig, which used to be the "Black Capital of Germany" and even here, there are some events every other week – which is still a lot more than in southern Germany, where I used to live before. And even in Leipzig, the last "pure" Goth Club, the "Darkflower", has closed for good in July, leaving only regular clubs with Goth themed nights.
I'm in my mid 30s now and still, whenever I visit some Goth Night in a Club, it feels like the average age drops when I enter the room. It seems like that these events are visited by the same people as 20 or 30 years ago. And outside of these events, in everyday environments, Goths seem to be as rare as black diamonds. (there never used to be "a lot" but you could encounter at least some every now and then)
So, how does it look on your country? Is there still an active Goth "community" or is it dying out as well?

Going to my first goth event!
Hi all, I will be seeing Twin Tribes next week and I am really excited! But I've never gone to a goth event before, so I am a little nervous. Is there anything I should know/ be prepared for? I don't want to seem out of place, I'm still fairly new to the scene.
Thanks! <3

Being goth in Oklahoma
I'm sure a few of you will relate but I need to vent bc being goth where a scene is not very present sucks so bad. Also I apologize if this is all over the place. First off dating here is horrible, it already is in your 20s (24f) but being goth and in a state like this is worse. It's so fucking hard to find guys that have the same interests, I literally have not found any. Then giving a more normal presenting guy that's not into goth culture always ends up bad for me, they just fetishize me or end up thinking I'm weird, this has happened to me way to many times unfortunately. Secondly there is not much of a goth music scene here, there are hard-core shows n stuff but that's it which I'm not into rlly, not really any goth music or clubs. Also most of the goths I come across are a lot younger than me like in their late teens, which is cool I'm glad it's a lot more popular than when I was a teen but it's so hard to make friends my age. I know I'm only 24 but I got all my partying urges out as a teenager so I'm not trying to hang with the party type either. The combination of all these things has 100% made me an introvert now and I just need to get out of this state.

Why do so many “goths” get offended when they’re told that TON is not a goth band?
People are so rude when they’re told that that’s not what goth music sounds like. It does not fall within any of the genres. Other bands in the same genre as TON are never called goth either. No one is like “My favorite goth band is Moonspell”. They’ll act like they’re so educated on the subculture and say things like “gothic metal is goth” yet never talk about other bands that aren’t TON.

The return of Goth?
Since about late 2022 I’ve noticed that goth had increased in popularity. Actual goth bands are starting to get recognition, atleast from what I’ve seen. Not that that’s a bad thing, it’s good that more people are discovering such an amazing subculture and even deciding to be apart of it. Before that the term goth was incorrectly being used to define e-girls, or just anyone with a slightly dark style. Does anyone have any idea why REAL goths had suddenly started trending?
